Purpose

The Property Details page is the full listing view for a single property. It presents all available information about a property — photos, description, price, location, features, contact options, and more — in a structured, easy-to-read layout. This is the page a visitor lands on when they click through from a property list, a search result, or a map pin. It is the primary point at which a visitor decides whether to inquire about or save a property.

How It Works

When a visitor navigates to a property's detail page, the system loads all published and approved information for that property and displays it in a structured layout. The page includes a photo gallery, a description, key property attributes (such as price, address, type, bedrooms, and bathrooms), contact or inquiry options, and related information such as the listing agent's details.

If the property is not published or not approved, the visitor is redirected or shown a "not available" message rather than the detail page.

The page also updates hit (view) counters to track how many times the property has been viewed.

How to Use It

  1. Find a property — Browse the property listing, use the search feature, or follow a link from a map pin or shared URL.
  2. View the detail page — Click the property name or thumbnail to open the full detail page.
  3. Explore the gallery — Browse property photos using the image gallery or slideshow.
  4. Review key information — Check price, address, property type, size, bedrooms, bathrooms, and any additional features or specifications.
  5. Read the description — The full description provides context about the property, its condition, and any highlights the agent has chosen to include.
  6. Contact the agent or owner — Use the contact/inquiry form or the agent's displayed contact details (phone, email) to get in touch.
  7. Use additional actions — Depending on the site setup, you may be able to print the listing, share it by email, add it to your favorites, compare it with other properties, or view it on a map.

Practical Use Cases

  • Property research — A buyer found a listing in the search results and wants to see all its details before reaching out to the agent.
  • Contacting an agent — A visitor uses the inquiry form on the property page to send a message directly to the listing agent.
  • Sharing a property — A visitor shares the property's URL or uses the "Tell a Friend" option to send the listing to someone they know.
  • Saving a property — A registered visitor adds the property to their favorites list for later review.
  • Printing a listing — An agent or visitor prints the property detail page to bring to a client meeting or for offline reference.

Key Elements on the Screen

Property title The name of the property, displayed prominently at the top of the page.

Photo gallery A collection of property photos, typically displayed as a main image with thumbnail navigation or a slideshow. Visitors can browse all uploaded photos.

Key property details A structured summary of core property attributes, which may include:

  • Price — Listed sale or rental price, with currency
  • Reference number — A unique identifier for the listing
  • Property type — Sale, rent, short-term, etc.
  • Category — Apartment, villa, commercial, land, etc.
  • Address and location — City, state, and country
  • Size / area — Floor area, land area, or other size indicators
  • Bedrooms and bathrooms — Number of each
  • Additional features — Garage, pool, balcony, conveniences (as configured by the site)

Full description The complete text description of the property provided by the listing agent.

Extra fields Any additional property information configured by the administrator, such as year built, floor number, parking, or other custom attributes.

Location map (if coordinates are available) An embedded map showing the property's location. Displayed only if the property has geographic coordinates stored.

Agent / owner information Details of the listing agent or property owner, which may include name, photo, contact information, and a link to their profile.

Inquiry / contact form A form that visitors can fill in to send a message or request more information directly to the listing agent or site administrator.

Action buttons Depending on site configuration, may include:

  • Print listing
  • Share by email / Tell a Friend
  • Add to favorites
  • Compare property
  • Request information
  • View on map

Navigation / breadcrumb Links back to the property listing page or category, helping users navigate back to their search results.

Expected Results

Visitors see a complete, well-organized presentation of the property's information. After reviewing the detail page, they can take an action — such as contacting the agent, saving the property, or printing the listing — based on what they have seen.

Important Notes

  • A property only appears on the detail page if it is both published and approved in the system. Unpublished or unapproved properties return a "not available" message.
  • Photos only appear in the gallery if they have been uploaded for that property. A placeholder image is shown if no photos are available.
  • The inquiry form may require the visitor to complete a CAPTCHA or agree to a privacy policy before submitting, depending on site configuration.
  • Certain interactive features — such as adding to favorites or requesting approvals — may require the visitor to be logged in.
  • The availability of features such as PDF export, map display, sharing, or favorites depends on the site configuration.
  • Extra fields and conveniences are only shown if they have been configured and populated for the property.

Theme and Presentation Notes

OS Property supports multiple themes — visual presentation styles that change the look, layout, and structure of the Property Details page. The theme in use is set by the site administrator and applies site-wide.

What themes affect on the Property Details page

Layout and arrangement of content blocks Different themes organize the property details content differently. For example, one theme may place the photo gallery at the top spanning the full width, while another displays the gallery beside the key attributes in a two-column layout. The order in which sections (description, details, map, agent info, contact form) appear can vary between themes.

Visual style Themes apply different color schemes, typography, button styles, and spacing. A theme designed for a modern, photo-heavy experience will look very different from a classic or minimalist theme. The overall tone and feel of the property page reflects the active theme's design choices.

Supported content sections Some themes include or highlight additional sections that others do not. For example:

  • Certain themes include a dedicated photo slideshow with navigation controls
  • Some themes display a "Request Information" form in a sidebar, while others show it below the property details
  • Themes may differ in how prominently the agent profile or company details are displayed alongside the listing

Map display The embedded location map may be shown in different positions (inline within the page, in a sidebar, or in a dedicated tab) depending on the theme.

Mobile responsiveness All provided OS Property themes are designed to be responsive, meaning the layout adapts for desktop, tablet, and mobile screen sizes. However, the specific way the layout reorganizes for smaller screens varies by theme.

What site administrators should keep in mind

  • The active theme is selected in the OS Property back-end under the Themes section. Changing the theme will immediately change how the Property Details page appears to visitors.
  • If you have customized layout templates, a theme change may affect or override those customizations. Review the layout after changing themes.
  • Themes that support additional content blocks (such as sharing tools, photo views, or request forms) will show those sections automatically if the relevant features are enabled in the configuration.
  • If certain information is not appearing on the Property Details page as expected, check both the property data (are photos uploaded? are coordinates set?) and the theme configuration (is the relevant section enabled in the theme's settings?).
