Companies List

[TOC]

Purpose

The Companies List page provides a directory of all published real estate companies registered in the OS Property system. Visitors can search for companies by name or keyword, view company profiles with contact details and descriptions, and browse the properties listed under each company. This feature is useful for visitors who prefer to work with an established agency rather than searching by individual agent.

How It Works

The Companies List page shows all published companies as a browsable listing. A keyword search box at the top allows visitors to quickly narrow the list to companies matching their input. Clicking a company name or details link opens the full company profile page, which includes contact information, a description, associated agents, and a list of properties managed by that company.

How to Use It

  1. Open the Companies List page from the site menu.
  2. Browse the list – View all published companies displayed on the page.
  3. Search by keyword – Type a company name or keyword into the search box and submit to filter the list.
  4. Click a company – Select a company name or its details link to open the full company profile.
  5. Explore company details – On the company profile page, review the company's contact information, description, associated agents, and property listings.
  6. Browse company properties – Use the property listings section on the company profile page to view properties managed by that company.

Practical Use Cases

  • Finding a real estate agency – A buyer wants to work with a local agency rather than an individual agent. They browse the companies list to find agencies operating in their area.
  • Verifying a company – A visitor who has received a referral to a company can search for it in the directory to verify contact information and see their listings.
  • Researching agencies – A property seller comparing agencies can browse company profiles to see their property portfolios, agent rosters, and descriptions before deciding who to approach.
  • Agency-filtered property search – After finding a company they like, a visitor can view all properties managed by that company directly from the company profile.
  • Contact via company – Visitors can use the company's phone number, email, or website link found on the profile to reach out directly to the agency.

Expected Results

Visitors see a searchable directory of real estate companies. Using the keyword search, they can quickly find a specific company or narrow the list. On the company profile page, they find complete contact information, a description, agent details, and associated property listings — everything needed to engage with that company.

Important Notes

  • Only companies that have been published by an administrator appear in the list.
  • Companies are created and managed in the OS Property back-end. Visitors cannot add or edit companies from the front end (unless the site provides a company registration form).
  • A company profile photo or logo only appears if one has been uploaded in the back-end.
  • The availability of a company description depends on whether the administrator or the company representative has filled in the description field.
  • The list of agents shown on a company profile reflects only agents who have been assigned to that company in the system.
  • On sites with many companies, using the keyword search is the most efficient way to find a specific company quickly.
  • Company details such as email, website, and phone number only appear if they have been filled in during company setup.
