Agent Edit Profile
[TOC]
Purpose
The Agent Edit Profile page is the personal management dashboard for registered OS Property users — including agents, owners, brokers, builders, landlords, and sellers. From this single page, a user can manage their own property listings, update their professional profile details, and maintain their Joomla account settings. It is the primary self-service area for any registered user who lists or manages properties on the site.
How It Works
When a logged-in OS Property user navigates to the Edit Profile page, the system loads a combined view showing:
- Their property listings — A paginated, filterable table of all properties they have submitted
- Their OS Property profile — Fields for professional and contact information
- Their Joomla account details — Name, username, password, and email
Each section may be presented in separate tabs or panels on the page, depending on the site configuration.
Users who do not yet have an OS Property agent profile (for example, a brand-new Joomla user who has not yet been registered as an agent) will have a profile automatically created for them when they first visit this page.
How to Use It
Managing your properties
- Log in to your site account.
- Navigate to the Edit Profile page from the site menu.
- Browse your property listings — The list shows all properties you have submitted. Use the filter controls to narrow the list.
- Edit a property — Click the property name or edit link to open the property edit form and modify its details.
- Change a property's status — Use the published/unpublished toggle or action buttons to control whether a listing is visible on the site.
- Request approval — If a property is unapproved, you can submit a request for the administrator to review and approve it.
- Upgrade a property to featured — If the site supports property upgrades, you can pay to feature a standard listing, making it more prominent in search results.
- Delete a property — Remove listings you no longer wish to keep by selecting them and using the delete action.
Updating your profile
- Go to the OS Property profile section (tab or panel) on the Edit Profile page.
- Update professional information — Fill in or update your name, phone numbers, mobile, fax, address (country, state, city), and professional details.
- Update contact and social links — Provide or update your email address, Skype handle, MSN, Facebook, and other social profile links as applicable.
- Upload a profile photo — Upload a new profile photo that will appear on your public agent profile page and alongside your property listings.
- Save your profile — Click the Save or Apply button to store your updated information.
Updating your Joomla account
- Go to the Joomla account section (tab or panel) on the Edit Profile page.
- Update your display name, username, email, or password as needed.
- Save the account changes — Your Joomla account will be updated immediately.
Practical Use Cases
- New agent onboarding — A newly registered user completes their profile by adding professional information, a photo, and contact details so they appear correctly on their public agent profile page.
- Property status management — An agent reviews their listings, publishes newly prepared properties, and unpublishes properties that are no longer available.
- Requesting approval — An agent has submitted a property but it is awaiting admin review. They use the approval request feature to prompt the administrator to review it.
- Featured upgrade — An agent decides to promote one of their standard listings to a Featured property to attract more attention. They use the upgrade option on the Edit Profile page.
- Keeping contact details current — An agent changes their phone number or adds a new social media link and updates their profile so visitors can reach them with accurate information.
- Password change — A registered user changes their Joomla account password from the profile page.

Expected Results
After visiting the Edit Profile page, the user has a clear view of all their listings and their current status. They can update any property, change its visibility, request approvals, or remove it. Profile changes (professional details, photo, contact info) are saved and reflected immediately on their public agent profile page. Joomla account changes (name, email, password) take effect immediately.
Important Notes
- Only logged-in users can access the Edit Profile page. Visitors who are not logged in will be redirected.
- The page only shows properties belonging to the logged-in user. To manage all properties site-wide, a user with Front-End Manage permissions must use the Manage Properties layout instead.
- Requesting approval for an unapproved property notifies the administrator but does not automatically approve it. Final approval is still at the administrator's discretion.
- Upgrading a property to Featured may involve a payment, depending on the site's configuration. The upgrade cost is set in the OS Property configuration. If OS Membership Pro is integrated, featured credits may be used instead.
- If OS Calendar is integrated, the Edit Profile page may also include an availability calendar section for managing booking calendars on properties.
- Profile changes made here are reflected on the user's public agent profile page visible to all site visitors.
- If no profile photo has been uploaded, a placeholder image is displayed on the public profile and alongside property listings.
- Deleting a property from this page is permanent.
