[TOC]
The Text Translation tool allows you to translate or customise the front-end labels of OS Calendar without editing language files directly. This is useful for:
To access it, go to Components → OS Calendar → Text Translation.
The translation tool loads all language string keys used in the OS Calendar front-end (en-GB.com_oscalendar.ini) and presents them in an editable list. Each row shows:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Language Key | The internal key used in the PHP code (e.g. OS_CHECKIN). |
| Default Text | The original English string from the language file. |
| Translation | An input field where you enter the translated / custom label. |
Translations are stored in the database and override the default language file values on the front-end.
On multilingual Joomla sites, the translation tool supports per-language translations. Use the Language selector at the top of the page to switch between languages and enter translations for each language independently.
Tip: If you only need to translate a few strings, the Translation tool is the quickest approach. For full language support, consider creating a full language pack file and contributing it to the community.
