[TOC]
A room type (for example "Deluxe Double") is what guests book. Room units are the individual physical rooms behind it (for example rooms 101, 102 and 103). Room units are optional. Use them when you want to track individual rooms, block a single room for maintenance, or see which room is assigned to a booking.
Open Components → OS Calendar → Properties → Manage Room Units.
Filter the list by property and room type. Each row shows the unit name or number, room type, status and publishing state.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Room Type | The room type this unit belongs to (required). |
| Unit Name / Unit Number | The name or number of the room, such as 101. |
| Building / Floor | Where the unit is located. |
| Status | For example Available, Blocked, Maintenance or Out of Order. |
| Blocked From / Blocked To / Reason | Use these to block a unit for a period of time. |
| Notes | Internal notes. |
| Sort Order / Published | Display order and publishing status. |
The Assignments view shows which room units are linked to bookings, with the guest and stay dates.
Note: Guests never choose a specific room unit. They book a room type, and units are for your own management.
Needs verification: Whether units are assigned to bookings automatically or manually by the administrator, and how blocked units affect the quantity shown to guests.
